Emerging from lockdowns and encountering sunshiny days (Spring is here!) is evermore blissful and urges to soul and body soothing activities. The municipal programmes Days with Energy (Dias com Energia) and Sundays in Shape (Domingos em Forma) resume this weekend, on 8 and 9 May. Although with no limits in the number of participants per activity, registrations are mandatory.

The municipal company Ágora – Cultura e Desporto do Porto was given a green light from the Directorate-general of Health and is back with free Pilates, yoga, tai chi, de Rose Method and walks.

Regarding the “Dias com Energia” initiative, sessions resume the usual summer timetable; so, every Saturday morning there will be Pilates, Yoga and tai chi in the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal, as well as two extra sessions of two of these modalities, given in turn in the Pasteleira and Oriental Parks.

As for Sundays, the City Park hosts tai chi and de Rose Method. Be advised that all outdoor activities are subject to weather forecast. However, this first weekend, all activities will exceptionally be held in the gymnasium at the Municipal Pavilion Fontes Pereira de Melo, due to the hosting of the EU Social Summit on Saturday at the Super Bock Arena – Pavilhão Rosa Mota, and on Sunday, due to the rain forecast.

In turn, the “Domingos em Forma” will resume as usual. Participants meet at 10 am each Sunday, at the Pavilhão Municipal do Lagarteiro and following the warm up, the walk is set through the Parque Oriental da Cidade, until 11 am.

All activities are also guided by specialized physical education professionals and are open to persons of all ages. Those who wish to participate should send an email to, stating name, chosen programme, class and location.
