Six trucks have already left with humanitarian aid for Poland's border with Ukraine

In 20 days, six trucks with humanitarian aid to Ukraine have left Porto. One more left heading for Poland's border with Ukraine, with 16 tons of goods collected. It all started on March 8, with the first transport to leave the headquarters of The Battalion of Firefighters (BSB) of Porto.

The “Somos Todos Ucrânia” campaign, promoted by the municipalities of Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia and Matosinhos, continues at a good pace. Today, from the BSB headquarters, the sixth truck left, after last Thursday, day 24, having left another one, also with 16 tons on board.

Both transports have the support of Centromarca, which, from now on, will provide all the transport assistance for this humanitarian action. Onboard are sent medicines, non-perishable food, clothing and other products donated by the solidarity of Porto people and beyond.

The “Somos Todos Ucrânia” campaign, promoted by the municipalities of Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia and Matosinhos, aims to coordinate responses and organize demonstrations to help the Ukrainian people. It provides a platform (www.somostodosucrania.pt) and a helpline, with the number +351 222 090 420, through which it is possible to assess the areas in which the community can participate in this aid, namely: a collection of goods, hosting refugee families, offers for employment and services.

In the first two weeks alone, this campaign raised 1,104 accommodation offers and sent 90 tons of donations.
