Shuttle new edition opens applications for 2021

Shuttle new edition, approved by the Municipal Executive early December, will be effective until October 2021 and it includes financial support, such as logistic expenses and production costs, to be awarded to artistic creation projects in the Invicta, throughout the year. The goal is to promote the solidification of artists, cultural agents and spaces’ activities in Porto.

Shuttle’s new tender for 2021 includes an increase in the available budget, with a budget strengthening in a total of 75 thousand euros to support Porto’s artistic scene at international level.

The programme accommodates applications till October 2021 and the jury will, then, decide on applications and Grant allocation, in February, June and October. The maximum amount to be allocated is 25 thousand euros per each meeting. If the total budget value is not fully allocated, it will transfer to the following meeting.

Applications for Shuttle projects should feature performance dates till 31st March 2022, in the fields of visual arts and curatorship, performative arts, performance and musical composition, translation and literary creation and essay writing. Grant allocation is decided by the following jury: the artist Marta Ângela (Von Calhau!), the architect and curator Luís Albuquerque Pinho and the doctor, performer and choreographer Mara Andrade. In addition, the artistic support programme Criatório enters its fifth edition and, like in previous years, support will encompass projects that are included in the fields of visual arts and curatorship, performing arts, composition, programming and musical performing, literature and critical thinking. There are 25 grants of 15 thousand euros to be awarded – 15 for artistic creation projects and 10 for programming spaces – and the application deadline is 12th January, at 6pm.

This new edition features the following members of the jury: Luís Fernandes (musician, sound artists and cultural programmer), Marta Mestre (curator and researcher) and Raquel André (performer and stage director), as regards the modality to support artistic creation. In turn, the programming spaces modality features the following members of the jury: Inês Grosso (curator), Pedro Quintela (sociologist, researcher and consultant) and Pedro Rocha (programmer and music curator, sound art and performance).
