Porto.

Post retirement or "becoming of age" (literally) does not mean one has to sit all day long or feel that life has nothing more to offer! Think again!

Urban ageing is a challenging phenomenon as it deals with an array of domains, namely social, health, housing, technology, walkability or transports, just to mention a few. This is the second edition of the "Porto, Older People City Friendly Days" initiative, which will run on 4th and 5th March, at Campo Alegre Theatre, with the goal of describing the creation of inclusive programmes and the implementation of measures for ageing-in-place, in the city of Porto.

Isabel Barros is the artistic director of this social integration project, "Quem sou eu?" [Who am I?], energised as a pilot project in the parishes of Campanhã and Bonfim, takes inspiration from people's life stories that are conveyed into artistic expression by using puppets. The work developed by these senior citizens takes to the stage at Campo Alegre, on 4th and 5th March, starting at 9pm.

Porto public policies are tuned to the need to continue advancing supportive urban programmes that empower the elderly community in Porto.
