Riding waves at Praia Internacional do Porto this May

The third round of the Liga Meo Surf 2021, a qualifying stage for the National Championship happens in Porto and in Matosinhos on 7, 8 and 9 May. This northern round, which was renamed Joaquim Chaves Saúde Porto Pro, is running for 16 straight seasons.

This event takes place in the same month that the national team participates in the 2021 ISA World Surfing Games will take place across the La Bocana and El Sunzal waves at Surf City in El Salvador, one of the last qualifying events for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The Liga MEO Surf third round under the Joaquim Chaves Saúde naming sponsor takes to the waves at Praia Internacional do Porto in the second weekend in May.

The National Surfers' Association (ANS) informs that it continues to work with the Municipalities to find the best possible scheduling of events, in line with the best licensing and health conditions, and to make the event’s agenda compatible with Portuguese surfers’ activities.

As usual, the northern round can be enjoyed from home, live on Sport TV, as well as in other official social media: Meo's Facebook, at position 810 of the MEO channel grid, at ligameosurf.pt and at social network at @ansurfistas.

The Meo Surf League 2021 is organised by the National Surfers Association and Fire!, with the support of the local municipalities of Porto and Matosinhos, as well as the technical support of Onda Pura and the Portuguese Surf Federation.
