Retailers celebrate Mother’s Day with customised gifts and treats

Mother’s Day is just around the corner; the date is marked on 2nd May and Porto City Hall is launching a campaign to support retail trading celebrate the date with customised gifts and treats, such as postcards, cards and customised wrappings that are also crosswords.

Like in previous years, Porto City Hall promotes this campaign addressed to all retailers in the city, with the goal of enhancing and supporting local trade activities and businesses. Thus, the Municipality of Porto will hand out cards and postcards to traders so that customers get this appreciation by buying local. The treats offer different messages, namely “Compras no Porto, compras com Paixão” [“Buy in Porto, buy with passion”, free translation]; “O melhor presente é no comércio do Porto” [“The best gift is at local retailers”, free translation], and “Comprei no Porto, comprei para Ti” [“I have bought it in Porto, I bought it for you”, free translation].

The gift paper is also offered by Porto City Hall and along with it there is a crossword puzzle that enables the client to go on a “word hunt”; such words are Dia do Pai; Dia da Mãe; Com Amor; Páscoa Feliz; Parabéns; Feliz Aniversário; Compras no Porto; Comércio de Rua; A Melhor Madrinha; O Melhor Padrinho; Shop in Porto; Compras com Tradição; Porto.

In compliance with the ongoing pandemic measures and following the roadmap for lockdown, the materials will be distributed by all the retailers that wish to participate in this initiative, starting on 19th April, by an external company.

This campaign is targeted at all commercial establishments in the city that wish to adhere; those who wish to participate have to send an application request to the email: comercio@cm-porto.pt, with the following information: name of the commercial establishment; full address; phone number/email; full name of the person in charge of receiving the material.

Upon delivery of the material, it is necessary to return a dully signed Declaration of Compliance.
