The Women’s Race will take to the road on May 21st at 10am, bringing together thousands of women for a solidarity cause, the fight against breast cancer. Once more, a portion of the registration fees will revert to IPO-Porto.

The competition, run by RunPorto and supported by the Porto City Hall, is intended exclusively for women, and is open to all age groups. Running or walking the 5k, in a morning full of animation and party in the city, the reflection and awareness-raising towards the prevention and treatment of breast cancer are the main goals of the event.

The race will start and finish in the same place: Alameda das Antas (next to Estádio do Dragão). In 2022, although the competitive nature is not the most important aspect of this race, once again a group of elite athletes marked their presence. At the finish line, Rafaela Fonseca (SC Salgueiros) made her debut winning the race, followed by Sara Duarte (SC Braga) and Susana Godinho (CD Feirense). The highlight of the morning was, however, the delivery of the cheque to IPO-Porto, worth 15 thousand euros corresponding to the 15 thousand women who joined the cause.

Registration for this year’s race is available via the organisation’s website.
