Registration for the 2023 Porto Marathon in now open

Celebrating its 19th Editions, the EDP Porto Marathon is the most anticipated race of the year. The 2023 edition will take place on November 5. The starting gun is already given, with the official opening of registrations on the organization’s site.

Next year, the competition will once again extend to the three neighbouring municipalities, Porto Vila Nova de Gaia and Matosinhos. After the circulation constraints on the lower deck of the Luís I bridge, which excluded Vila Nova de Gaia waterfront in the last two years, in 2023 it is expected that athletes will cross again to the south bank of the Douro.

In 2023, the marathon will start at Sea Life Porto and the finish line at Queimódromo. Thus, the race will take place along the Atlantic front and on the banks of Douro River, thus combining a panorama of sea and river in a flat and fast route, conducive to records.

Remember that, in 2022, Kenyan James Mwangui set a new record for the race, with a time of 02:08:47. The Kenyan Monica Jepkoech has held the women’s record for the event, 02:26:58, since 2017.

The organization, in charge of RunPorto and with the support of the Municipality of Porto, informs that, in this Christmas Season, for those who still do not know what to offer their friends and family, it has launched a registration campaign with a special price. The amount is 35 euros until December 31 (exclusive fee for online registrations at www.maratonadoporto.com).
