Porto sees twenty years as UNESCO World Heritage

 Monday, December 5, marks 20 years since Porto Historic Centre was classified as World Heritage. To mark the date, Porto City Hall prepared a number of activities, namely the inauguration of six lighting installations within the framework of ALUMIA project.


On December 5, 1996, UNESCO officially included the Historic Centre of Porto in the list of World Cultural Heritage. It was the recognition of the outstanding cultural and patrimonial legacy of Porto Historic Centre.

To celebrate this date, there will be a vast and diverse set of initiatives that will take place Monday, the day that officially starts the ALUMIA project.
