Porto is pioneer in Integrated Emergency Management at national and international level

Porto is pioneer in Integrated Emergency Management Certification at national level and one of the first cities worldwide to receive these credentials that represent expertise in the fields of Protection and Relief, Municipal Security and Civil Protection.

The Certificate of conformity with UNE ISO 22320:2013 Standard was presented today at the Integrated Management Centre to the Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira.

"This gives us guarantees that we are on the right track with regard to preventing various risk situations", Rui Moreira said, adding that this certification "can reassure the citizens of Porto".

The mayor has further said that the level of investment made so far has been high regarding resources and the Integrated Management Centre is an example of this. A space shared by rescue forces, security, civil protection and other entities, which optimises the monitoring of the city.
