Porto welcomes the fall plenary session of the European Network of Directors General/Presidents of Environmental Agencies (EPA Network).

This meeting takes place twice a year and provides an opportunity for leaders of Europe's environmental agencies to share their views and experiences in relation to environmental policy challenges.

Representatives from 25 agencies across Europe, including some countries outside the European Union, Iceland and Norway, take part in this meeting in addition to the European Commission's Directorate-General for Environment, Daniel Calleja, and executive director of the European Environment Agency, Hans Bruyninckx.

Sustainable mobility is the main topic of the Porto meeting and visits to CEiiA - Engineering Center and Product Development and the Electric Car Museum are already scheduled.

The opening session was attended by the mayor, Rui Moreira, who talked about the environmental policy followed by the Municipality, which include, among other, the need to develop more green space, to reduce the carbon footprint, the need to balance the tourist flow to the identity of the city and to improve the citizen's quality of life.
