The Municipality of Porto will be present at MIPIM 2022, which will take place in the French city of Cannes, from the 15th to 18th of March. The city will be at the stand E.50, on floor -1 of the Exhibition Hall, a privileged location near the entrance to the main exhibition of what is the largest Real Estate fair in Europe, and a transit point for the more than 17,000 expected visitors. In an area of over 2000 m2, the MIPIM 2022 will be attended by representatives from 100 countries, 3800 companies and over 480 speakers.

“We will occupy an area of 66 m2, with an innovative and technological environment, prepared with two distinct areas: exhibition and meetings. We believe that we have the best space to present Porto and continue to attract investment to the city, following the strategy that has made possible to make Porto one of the main touristic destinations and a global business hub”, says Ricardo Valente, Porto City councilman for Finance, Economy and Employment.

Porto is experiencing a very deep transformation in its infrastructure and public spaces. The city is engaged in a reconstruction of the city, featured by a focus on a sustainability strategy, leading it to become one of the most livable cities with the highest quality of life in Europe. After having challenged companies and private investors to a joint participation in MIPIM 2022, the Municipality is now focused on making this participation an opportunity to establish connections and partnerships with visitors, among which are the main players in the Real Estate industry, as well as to learn about new trends in the sector.

“This is a unique opportunity that we do not want to miss. We have the perfect location, and throughout the four days of MIPIM 2022, we have several meetings scheduled with potential investors and we hope that our space will continue to capture the attention of visitors with an interest in getting to know the city and its investment opportunities”, Ricardo Valente reinforces.

Throughout the 2022 edition of MIPIM, on Driving Urban Changes, Porto will promote several dynamics, among which stands out a conference held jointly with the city of Lisbon and with the participation of the Mayors of both municipalities, as main speakers, inviting debate on the strategy and competitive advantages in a post-Covid context. At the Leading Urban Transformation in Post-Pandemic Times conference, the two cities will make room in the debate for communicating strategies, addressing investment opportunities, and looking at best practices adopted in the post-pandemic context.

The Tasting Porto. with happy hours for networking moments and the presence in the Political Leader´s Summit, a meeting between political decision-makers, in which the Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, will be one of the roundtable leaders, are other initiatives to be carried out.

MIPIM 2022 will also host the fDi Awards Ceremony. The city of Porto will receive the award for its third place in the Financial Times ranking of European Cities of the future, in the “Best fDi Strategy Mid-Sized Cities” category. The “fDi European Cities and Regions of the Future” awards will be given on the 15th, second day of MIPIM 2022.
