Porto Municipal Gallery reopens on 6th April and resumes its programming for the remaining of 2021. The calendar of exhibitions was balanced by the Porto Municipal Gallery’s artistic team, and all the artists, curators and partners to ensure that the previously announced exhibitions take place.
Porto Municipal Gallery opens doors with both exhibitions inaugurated last December 2020, namely “Nets of Hyphae”, an exhibition by Diana Policarpo, curated by Stefanie Hessler and coproduced by Kunsthall Trondheim, and “Que horas são que horas: uma galeria de histórias”, curated by José Maia, Paula Parente Pinto and Paulo Mendes. Both exhibitions can be visited until 25th April, from Tuesday to Friday, between 10 am and 6 pm, and on weekends between 10 am and 1 pm.
The rest of the calendar unfolds as follows:
- from 1th June to 22nd August 2021
- from 18th September to 21st November 2021
“Atravessar a Fronteira: Os novos babilónios”, a project by the artist and curator Pedro G. Romero and “Pandemic: I Don’t Know Karate, But I Know Ka-Razor!”, an exhibition by Filipe Marques, jointly curated by Isabeli Santiago and Juan Luis Toboso.
- from 11th December 2021 to 13th February 2022
“A hora antes do pôr do sol”, an exhibition by the Colombian artist Milena Bonilla curated by Juan Luis Toboso and “Erro 417: Expectativa Falhada”, curated by Marta Espiridião. This exhibit was part of “Expo’98 no Porto”.
- from 22nd May to 18th July 2021
“Anuário 20”, curated by Ana Resende, Andreia Garcia, Melissa Rodrigues, Pedro Augusto and Pedro Magalhães, which will be presented in different venues in town.
The reopening of Porto Municipal Gallery will follow all recommendations by the Council of Ministers, of 11th March, regarding the opening to the public of museums, monuments, palaces, and art galleries and similar.
The use of face masks is still mandatory, as well as physical distancing and maximum capacity occupancy of 30 people at the same time within the gallery premises. Access requirements and the respective timetable are always subject to the rules issued by the DGS.
