Porto was, once again, acknowledged by the World Council on City Data, with the Platinum level, as regards the ISO 37120 Sustainable cities and communities - Indicators for city services and quality of life.

ISO 37120, the first standard for "International Organization for Standardization" includes a set of 100 indicators, grouped accordingly to 19 topics related to services and life quality, standardizing the economic, social and environmental performance measurement in the city. The World Council on City Data (WCCD) is the international body responsible for this process.

Out of the 100 assessed indicators, the city of Porto has communicated 96 indicators, including all the core indicators and 50 out of the 54 possible support indicators.

This is the third year in a row that the city of Porto is acknowledged with the highest standardisation level; only 23 other cities at world level, were granted this standard. At national level, Porto is the only city that has been recognised by three consecutive years (Sintra was granted this ISO in 2017 and in 2018, Cascais in 2018 and Vila Nova de Famalicão in 2019).
