Porto is a city that hosts elite companies: Talkdesk, the technological centre of excellence in Porto, is included in the best private cloud companies in the world list, by Forbes.

Talkdesk, the cloud-based software provider call centre, headquartered in San Francisco, CA moved to UPTEC in Porto in 2017 and opened its new premises at the Invicta this past May. It has been listed a member of the Forbes 2019 Cloud 100, the definitive ranking of the top 100 private cloud companies in the world, published by Forbes in partnership with Bessemer Venture Partners and Salesforce Ventures.

Forbes Cloud 100 recognizes the best private cloud companies in the world, from small startups to private-equity-backed giants, all across the globe from Silicon Valley to Australia and Belgium.

The companies on the Cloud 100 stand out for their growth, sales, valuation and culture, and for capitalism based on entrepreneurship, which have a strong and positive impact in the world.

"We are very honoured and proud to be included in the prestigious Forbes Cloud 100. This acknowledgment is the validation of our contact centre cloud solutions and our leadership regarding consumer market experience", highlights Tiago Paiva, Talkdesk's CEO.

"Four years ago we choose the best and more brilliant emerging companies in the cloud sector," explains Alex Konrad, editor of Forbes Cloud 100. "With so many rising stars in the cloud, from cybersecurity to marketing or data storage, it is now harder than ever to be part of this ranking, the Cloud 100 list, but the chosen ones are now among elite companies".

The emergence of and the new breed of professionally managed major businesses that are coming to town is something that Mayor Rui Moreira sees as the result of the current competitive urban profile of the city of Porto.

Talkdesk's CEO, Tiago Paiva, stated "this is key to the company's success" and "we are thrilled to grow in a city as vibrant as Porto regarding the innovation and technological ecosystem".

The dedicated attention to the urban environment, as far as urban transport and related eco-strategies are concerned (eco bus), the level of education (Porto University is included in the major higher education rankings), as well as the innovation ecosystem are main drivers to attract potential investors, both national and international, to the city of Porto.

Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira has set up a public body for investment undertaking in the city and in the region, Invest Porto.

InvestPorto's mission is to foster a more competitive business environment and attract both domestic and foreign investment to the city, thus ensuring a reliable future of the city's economic ecosystem.

The municipal support office to the city's economic development is linked with projects that have created more than 11 thousand jobs. The optimum response to investment initiatives are now reflected on a dedicated portal - www.investporto.en.
