The attractiveness of the city of Porto wins once again the World Travel Awards. After, in 2022, being elected Europe’s Leading City Destination, the Invicta was, once again, recognized by the “Tourism Oscars” in the European Competition, this time as Europe’s Leading City Break Destination 2023.

Proudly receiving the distinction on behalf of the Municipality of Porto, the Councilwoman for Tourism and internationalization mentions that “the current challenge is to qualify the standards of touristic offer, in a balanced and sustainable way. Therefore, the Confiança Porto program has been supporting the economic operators to achieve and recognize levels of excellence, in areas like touristic accommodation”.

According to Catarina Santos Cunha, “the commitment for Porto to continue to stand out as a welcoming city and, especially to touristic demand”. So, “on the 27th of September - World’s Tourism day – we launched the Tourist’s Manifest, with the aim of involving and raising awareness among tourists for the good practices to adopt while visiting the city”.

The World Travel Awards ceremony took place in Batumi, in Georgia, and brought together leaders in the area of tourism from around the world.

This is an initiative that recognizes and awards excellence in traveling and tourism, based on the voting by traveling industry professionals, media, and consumers.

In 2022, the “Tourism Oscars” surrendered to Porto, awarding them with Europe’s Leading City Destination, and, in the global competition, World’s Leading City Destination. The city had already been elected Europe's Leading City Break Destination, in the 2020 WTA edition.
