Porto City Hall was distinguished with the Youth Friendly City Seal – 5 star category, the highest one awarded by Federação Nacional das Associações Juvenis (FNAJ) and saw its maintenance in the National Network of Youth Friendly Cities renewed.

The distinction was received by the Youth Councilwoman, Catarina Araújo, at the III National Meeting of Youth Friendly Cities, on May 26th, in Pinhel, with the presence of the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, João Paulo Correia, mayors, city technicians and young people, in a total of over 250 participants. In this initiative, Porto was also chosen to present the good practices developed regarding the implementation and execution of local youth policies.

The National Network of Youth Friendly Cities, founded in 2020 by Federação Nacional das Associações Juvenis, has more than 160 cities registered. The FNAJ seal was created to highlight cities with an effective involvement of young people in the creation of strategies both for the present and the future, contributing to the implementation of better local youth policies.

It is important to recall that Porto City Hall joined the National Network of Youth Friendly Cities in 2021.
