Originally titled "Porto, Mon Amour", the film “Porto” tells the story of two foreigners, American Jake and French Mati, who briefly meet in Porto and experience a short but intense intimate relation. The film is now available on HBO. “Porto”, by Gabe Klinger, had its world premiere in 2016. It has been screened in over 25 countries and won awards in Portugal, Argentina and Belgium.

The movie “Porto” was awarded in the La Biennale di Venezia Festival and has contributed to put Porto in the world cinematographic roadmap. The film was produced by the multi prized American cinematographer Jim Jarmusch and Portuguese producer Rodrigo Areias.

Originally titled "Porto, Mon Amour", it is the story of American Jake and French Mati, who briefly meet in Porto and experience a short but intense intimate relation. The film features Anton Yelchin, Lucie Lucas and Portuguese Paulo Calatré in the leading roles. The lead actor, Yelchin, died shortly after the shooting of the film in a tragic accident in June 2016. National production also includes “Bando à Parte”, which i salso in charge of the film Listen, by Ana Rocha de Sousa.

While shooting "Porto", Director Gabe Klinger stated that "Porto is timeless, it is allure with narrative and culture", emphasising that that was one of the reasons to shoot the film in 16 mm, 35mm and super 8 format. It is the first feature-length film to be directly sponsored by Porto City Hall.

"When we turn the camera on, it is possible to find ourselves in the 13th century, the 15th century, the 18th century and the 19th century. This is a film about characters that explore the archaeology of time in their lives. It is a city that allows this consideration of intervals in life trough different times", Klinger explained.

The film "Porto" has featured the most important international film festival competitions, in addition to the worldwide premiere in the San Sebastián Festival, in Spain in September 2016. The preview happened in Portugal, two months after, in Rivoli, open to the public, also attended by the leading actress and Director, as well as other members of the film production.
