The Municipality of Porto strengthened the mupi campaign launched in October as regards communication the right behaviour and attitudes that each and every one can adopt in order to reach a collective impact on the fight against the spread of the new coronavirus.

Today, three other key messages are scattered all over town to raise awareness on rule compliance to stop the dissemination of Covid-19.

“A friend’s eye is a good mirror”; “Care to do the right thing?”; “If you display symptoms or have tested positive, self-isolate and tell people you’ve been in contact with (previous 48 hours)”; “Dispose face masks appropriately. Put used masks into a general waste bin.” These are the new messages that add to the first ones disseminated in the October campaign by the Municipality of Porto. Instead of the usual blue of the Porto. brand, the campaign switched to yellow as it is also associated with caution. Graphics are, again, by Studio Eduardo Aires.

This campaign has stirred attentions abroad, as the newspaper The Guardian published a news piece on cities communicating prevention Covid-19 measures and spotlighted a photo of the campaign by Porto City Hall to illustrate the article.

Mayor Rui Moreira has enhanced the importance of a clear communication with the population regarding key messages explaining the right attitudes and behaviour amid the pandemic to help fight the coronavirus, namely during a TV show on national television.
