Whatever you choose to call it, urban green spaces, urban greenery, or public park, Porto now has an extended Oriental Park to the delight of everyone: residents, passers-by or nature lovers.

With an area of 16 hectares - twice as much since Mayor Rui Moreira's second term began - the newly extended Oriental Park was officially inaugurated on 20th October, by Mayor of Porto and Rosa Mota.

Rui Moreira invited Rosa Mota, Olympic gold medal and former marathon runner, to stroll through the green space and appreciate the high aesthetic qualities that this natural area surrounding Porto offers: the renovated river Tinto, the pedestrian ways perfectly structured, the open space that provides recreational areas for visitors and residents, enhancing the beauty and environmental quality of neighbourhoods.

This is what happens when politicians like Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, engage on serious high quality measures, alongside the City Hall of Gondomar, and Community supports, which benefits the entire oriental area of Porto and particularly Campanhã.

This endeavour had been commenced in 2010 but had always been put off and now it finally happened.
