This weekend, on 20th and 21st March, the Porta Jazz Association live streams six jazz concerts of 2019 and 2020. This event is themed “Meia-Maratona”, and it is available at the Munin Live international streaming platform.

Many musicians saw their performances and concerts postponed because of the pandemic. That reason shorted their usual activity. This event is aimed at giving back to the music scene as regards making music to audiences and keeping both the industry and fans connected. This will be a full weekend to the rhythm of jazz. Make the most of it!

The event kicks off at 4 pm, this Saturday, with the live streaming of the Mazam quartet, featuring their album “Land”, with João Mortágua in the saxophone, Carlos Azevedo in the piano, Miguel Ângelo in the double bass and Mário Costa in the drum set.

Two hours later, time to appreciate the live presentation of the album “Sete”, by the drummer Marcos Cavaleiro, accompanied by José Pedro Coelho and João Guimarães in the saxophones, André Fernandes in the guitar and Demien Cabaud in the double bass.

The last concert of day one concludes at 10 pm, with “Murmuration”, the third work by Pedro Neves Trio, which also features the double bass Miguel Ângelo and the drummer José Marrucho.

Sunday offers performances that kick off at 4 pm, with trio Mau (Miguel Ângelo in the double bass, Miguel Moreira in the guitar and Mário Costa in the drum set) presenting their work “Utopia”. At 6 pm, time to hear the guitarist Ap, the bassist Diogo Dinis and the drummer Miguel Sampaio, who are members of the “A incerteza de um trio certo”.

The final performance is by “Dentro da Janela”, which was album of the year in the category of the Play RTP 2019 jazz awards, presented by João Mortágua (saxophone and formations), José Pedro Coelho (saxophone), Miguel Moreira (guitar), José Carlos Barbosa (double bass) and José Marrucho (drums).
