On 8 and 22 July, the Pateo of the Natural History and Science Museum of the University of Porto there will be two sessions, respectively, that will be a joy to discover. The free session themed “Ouvir, 59 minutos de imersão poética”, [“Listening, 59 minutes of poetic immersion”, free translation] are held in the scope of the “Noites no Pátio do Museu” Cycle.

The next poetry sessions will be delivered by the poets Luís Adriano Carlos (8 July) and Emanuel Madalena (22 July), at 9 pm. Participants will be asked to play the role of travellers in an audio river, thus enhancing hearing to be immersed in a “verse, words and poem reverberation chamber”, at the Pateo of the Natural History and Science Museum of the University of Porto (MHCNUP), as highlighted by Porto Editora, the organiser of the event, jointly with the University of Porto.

“The challenge to the public is to explore sound, by putting aside and casting off all the other senses and allow full focus on hearing only”. This task will be performed by sitting on or laying on pillows, and the start of the journey is set by an audio narrative, inspired by the invited author and drafted by the students of the Master in Multimedia of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. The ambiance will give way to the listening of a recording of the poems by the author of each session.

The 59 minutes that these events last, will conclude with a talk between the vice-rector of the University of Porto, Fátima Vieira, and the invited poet.

Entrance is free, upon previous ticket reservation.
