“Nets of Hyphae” exhibition book is launched today at Porto Municipal Gallery

Nets of Hyphae” is also the name of the book that follows the same name display authored by Diana Policarpo and curated by Stefanie Hessler, on show at Porto Municipal Gallery, will be launched today, 9th April, at 6 pm. Participation is free, but previous registration is required.

The book release integrates the symposium “Spiritual Technologies – Ethnobotany within Witch Trials and the Capitalization of Health”, and it is presented by Guilherme Blanc, artistic director of Batalha Centro de Cinema, the artist Diana Policarpo and Stefanie Hessler, curator of the exhibition and artistic director of the Kunsthall Trondheim, which coproduces the exhibit and where the ceremony takes place.

This edition will also be available for purchase at Porto Municipal Gallery and it addresses the work by Diana Policarpo, namely the relations in the context of ancestral knowledge, the capitalising of health, women and LGBTQ+ rights, mysticism and alchemy from an artistic, curatorial and historic viewpoint. The book gathers contributions by Stefanie Hessler and Guilherme Blanc, curator and researcher Margarida Mendes, Norwegian historian Rune Blix Hagen, the writer and editor Emmy Bebber and also the curator and art historian Katrine Elise Pedersen.

The book is jointly published by Porto Municipal Gallery, Kunsthall Trondheim and Mousse Publishing, with the support by Arts Council Norway, and design by João M. Machado.
