Natixis, the second-largest banking group in France, which inaugurated its Technological and Information Skills Centre in Porto, in 2018, will shift jobs from its Parisian headquarters to the city of Porto. This means that circa 200 work stations will add to Natixis services portfolio in Porto, operating in the former Central Shopping building, in Porto.

The decision to establish the city of Porto as the Centre of Excellence for Natixis was based on the talented and highly skilled people that Porto has to offer as well as on the environment of innovation and entrepreneurship that spurs in that northern region. The company started operating in 2018, and hired over 300 people. The goal to reach "600 employees by the end of 2019" was surpassed with Natixis significantly increasing its services portfolio and recruiting 130 new collaborators, in the end of 2019 alone, as by that time, the French corporate and investment bank Natixis had doubled the number of highly-qualified executives recruited in Porto.

This year, despite the pandemic, Natixis continues expanding operations in the Invicta and recruiting new talents. The pandemic is no obstacle to the continuous growth of Natixis in Porto, as the right combination of policies and investments and the talent of human resources sets the stage for thriving industries.

Recently, Natixis launched a recruitment process targeted at graduates in Law, Management and International Relations, themed Purple Scan, which Etienne Huret, Natixis Director to Portugal, who took on Nathalie Risacher’s position, shared with Mayor Rui Moreira, during a meeting at Porto City Hall, last July. As such, Natixis increased its services portfolio in the areas of Law, Business Administration and International Relations by recruiting 130 new collaborators.

Already in 2018, Laurent Mignon, Natixis CEO, had outlined several reasons why Portugal, and most specially Porto, was the chosen destination to settle the Natixis IT Centre of excellence: "We have found gifted, talented and well-educated people here and that's very important", and also "we feel here an environment of innovation and entrepreneurship which really fit with our DNA".

Now, the shift of circa 200 work posts confirms Porto as an excellent choice due to its favourable economic environment for foreign investment and important language skills.

The news is advanced by Bloomberg, and the implementation is following the necessary steps of conversations with unions as out of 245 jobs currently existing in France, Paris, 209 should be shifted to Porto.

Natixis is a French corporate and investment bank established in November 2006 from the merger of the asset management and investment banking operations of Natixis Banque Populaire (Banque Populaire group) and IXIS (Groupe Caisse d'Epargne). The company, which is settled at the Central Shopping building, in Rua de Santos Pousada, was listed among the 20 best energy efficient buildings, between February and September last year, according to CUBE 2020.

It is worth highlighting that Natixis and several other companies relocated to Porto as the result of the he investment attraction office created by Rui Moreira, InvestPorto; this municipal support office to the city's economic development is linked with projects that have created more than 11 thousand jobs in the city.
