Municipality is at the Web Summit to show how the future begins in Porto

Entrepreneurship, investment, talent, and tourism are the key areas of the mission that brings together the city’s initiatives and companies at the Web Summit, taking place in Lisbon until Thursday. The Municipality is at the largest European technology, innovation, and networking conference to show how the future begins in Porto.

For three days, the Porto stand will be open to talks, pitches and presentations from companies operating in the city, and also the municipal projects Invest Porto, TERA and Scale up.

At the same time, in partnership with Visit Porto, the Municipality will listen to everyone who wishes to present a revolutionary idea for tourism in the city.

Wednesday will be marked by the official launch of the Leme platform, where the Municipality will make available all the information on the several dimensions of the city’s economic and social activity in more than 250 indicators: from macroeconomics to demographics, from companies to Real Estate, from Tourism to Health.

The information presented comes from official sources, including the Bank of Portugal, the National Statistics Institute, the Employment and Vocational Training Institute and the Multibanco network.

At the end of the day, Porto promotes a meeting between the city's entire entrepreneurial ecosystem - from large companies to start-ups - present at the Web Summit. It all takes place in Pavilion 1 - Booth E169 and the full agenda can be found at websummit.porto.pt.

The Municipality sees the conference as a stage of excellence for presenting good practices and innovative models that can contribute to the city's sustainability in the areas of economy and tourism, by sharing different strategic and operational approaches aimed at consolidating Porto's position as a global quality destination for entrepreneurship, investment, work, study and visit.
