"How could we not thank him (Rui Moreira) the fact that Porto is now the first city in the country to allow motorcycles and mopeds to circulate in the bus lane?", around 500 motorcycle drivers from Porto Chapter voiced their gratitude regarding the municipality's sustainable mobility policy to Mayor Rui Moreira, today in front of the City Hall in Porto.

According to these road riders, the measures implemented by Rui Moreira and councillor for Mobility issues, Cristina Pimentel, have contributed to less time spent on the road, co2 emissions reduced, and increased security".

The motorcycle drivers also said that this shows that the Mayor is well aware of road safety needs and that adds a contemporary perspective to mobility.

Porto Chapter members see themselves as "Porto citizens", they all drive Harley Davidson vehicles and their values are of fellowship and camaraderie, respect, friendship and solidarity.

Porto is also the first city about to transform public transport, and how cycling is done in the city, by implementing a pilot programme connecting alternative means of transport and public transport.
