Boris Charmatz's "Manger" (to eat) is presented next Wednesday at 9:30 pm at the Monastery of São Bento da Vitória, following its debut at Tate Modern's Turbine Hall in London.

The thought-provoking and one of the most radical dance makers today, Boris Charmatz originally trained at the Paris Opera Ballet and has been challenging preconceived notions of dance for over 20 years. In 2009 Charmatz became director of the Centre Choréographique National de Rennes et de Bretagne in France, which he renamed Musée de la danse.

Part of his "Musée de la danse in London" season, this piece arises out of the relation between the hand, foot, and the mouth. This is the matrix that may engender other ways of eating and dancing.

The current season (from September to December) of the Municipal Theatre of Porto features the work of other international artists, to be explored in different venues throughout the city.
