Moniz Pereira was a teacher, sportsman, athlete, coach and songwriter. He was himself an athlete too, having practised handball, basketball, football, roller hockey, table tennis, volleyball and athletics. But his carrer was also notewoethy as regards songwriting and poetry; he authored fados sung by national fadistas like Valeu a Pena, Fado Varina, Rosa da Madragoa, Rosa da Noite, Não me Conformo, Leio em teus Olhos, Just to mention a few.

The Fonoteca do Porto continues to share its passion for music by according on Spotify delightful playlists that intertwine the history of music with contemporary culture.

The Municipal Audio Room (Fonoteca Municipal) is part of the Plataforma Campanhã, in the Arda Complex. It is a space devoted to appreciating music, audio-visual, sound and the music industry at large, featuring circa 35 thousand vinyl records, both national and international productions. It opened to the public in September 2020, and is targeted at all types of audiences - the aficionados, the curious, the nostalgic and the collectors.

The large collection of phonograms in vinyl format was the result of two donations to the Municipal Sound Archive by Rádio Difusão Portuguesa and Rádio Renascença, back in 2008.
