These are the last days to see films by the Japanese director Akira Kurosawa, one of the most acknowledged Japanese filmmakers in the West. Seven films, in digital restored copies, five of which were never presented in a movie theatre in Portugal, are on screen at Campo Alegre Municipal Theatre.

"Cinema partakes so much with other arts? It has features of literature, of theatre, it even has a philosophical side to it, attributes of painting and sculpture, and musical elements. [...] But there is something very special in films, which is purely cinematic. When I direct movies, or when I go see movies by other directors, I am looking for that experience". (free translation)
