The most popular film by Fellini, La Dolce Vita screens at Campo Alegre, on 6th August and marks the debut of the cinema cycle devoted to one of the great filmmakers of the Twentieth century. The cycle concludes on 10th September.

It is said that Fellini took his own experience as a reporter in Rome to represent the stardom daily life, with celebrities and stars parading Rome.

Fellini won the Palme d'Or award for La Dolce Vita, and besides being nominated for twelve Academy Awards, he won four in the category of Best Foreign Language Film and the Oscar for Best Costumes.

The film is often regarded as one of the greatest films ever.
La Dolce Vita follows Marcello Rubini, played by Marcello Mastroianni, a gossip magazine's reporter through his journey in Rome's sweet life (dolce vita), in search for his own spotlight.
