Innovation Hub opens in Porto

The Innovation Hub opens in Porto and is located next to the City Hall. Its mission is to foster socio economic development and competitiveness through innovation by creating new business opportunities, enhancing synergies and empowering entrepeneurs.

According to Rui Moreira, mayor of Porto, the Innovation Hub is to become the space for emerging companies and start-ups and add value to existing companies. 

Rui Moreira stressed that "the Innovation Hub is our (the municipality) contribution to a rather vibrant and existing ecosystem (...) that also needs to be disseminated."

Filipe Araújo, councilor for Innovation and Environment, said that this space was designed by a company from Porto, Fahr 0213, and explained that it is divided into three rooms - a permanent exhibition, a temporary exhibition and an auditorium. As stated by the councilor, "most of all, we wanted to show that Porto is the city of innovation".

The innovation Hub facilities also provide meeting rooms to companies and entrepeneurs, free of charge by prior appointment.

Porto Innovation Hub is set to ignite innovation in the transformation of the city.
