Classical music performances have returned to Avenida dos Aliados. On September 10th, starting at 10 p.m., the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música takes the stage to perform a repertoire focused on opera overtures conducted by the German maestro Christoph Poppen.

The concert invites the audience to reunite with great classical music performances, in a line-up that privileges works by Suppé (“Light Cavalry” overture), Rossini (“William Tell”, and “La Gazza Ladra” overtures), Brahms (gypsy folklore in “Hungarian Dances”) and Tchaikovsky (Italian folk songs in “Capriccio Italiano”).

The venue seats 750, and access is free on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sinfónica na Avenida is an initiative of Porto City Hall and Casa da Música, with the support of BPI – La Caixa Foundation
