First Bombarda Art District 2017 openings

Welcome to Bombarda Art District, in Porto. After the indulgences of the festivities, take time to stroll around this now predominantly fashionable district of upmarket galleries, offering you an array of events and exhibitions.

Bombarda is more than just an art district. It is an environment that inspires you to nurture new ways of thinking. Many art galleries were established in Bombarda during the past ten years.

Contemporary art has taken over this Quarter and, every two months, six times a year, the galleries open their doors simultaneously and showcase new exhibitions to the public. 

This past Saturday, Saturday 14, 2017 1st Bombarda opening cycle began.

In all, a total of 17 galleries participated in this first cycle, spread throughout the streets of Miguel Bombarda, D. Manuel II and Rosario, with individual and collective exhibitions, ranging from painting, and fine arts to sculpture.

The programming activities, jointly organised by Porto City Hall with the Bombarda Art District Association, include the usual guided tours to the galleries, as well as a number of street entertainmen, like dance shows and theatre and print workshops.

The next cycle of Simultaneous Inaugurations in Bombarda is scheduled to open March 11.
