Next weekend, Festival da Comida Continente is back to make food a show. The event promises to involve visitors in an experience around new food trends, with lots of music in the mix. Concerts by Carolina Deslandes, Daniela Mercury, David Carreira, Fernando Daniel, Nenny, Pedro Abrunhosa and Tony Carreira will take place in Parque da Cidade.

The fourth Edition of Festival da Comida Continente returns after a two-year break, with different experiences for the “festival goers”, in an area of 200 thousand square meters. Of free entrance, the event, which opens at 11 am, is aimed especially at families, offering reasons of interest for all ages.

During the weekend, there will be music for all generations. On Saturday, July 9, the main stage will host Nenny (3 pm), Fernando Daniel, Piruka and Agir (5 pm), David Carreira (7 pm) and Tony Carreira (9:30 pm). On Sunday, it is the turn of Carolina Deslandes (3 pm), Pedro Abrunhosa (5 pm) and Daniela Mercury (7 pm).

Food for all tastes

Gastronomy is one of the main reasons to visit the event. “Cozinha Continente” brings together seven national and international chefs: António Loureiro, Chakall, Cris Mota, Hélio Loureiro, Justa Nobre, Manuel Almeida and Rui Paula. Visitors can try some national delicacies, such as Tripas à Moda do Porto, Lombo de Bacalhau em Crosta de Pão de Milho or Presa de Porco Ibérico, among many others. There are also several vegetarian options in the “Cozinha de Rua” area.

In the space 'Cozinh’Arte by Oliveira da Serra', several guests will join the chefs of the event to show their cooking skills, preparing recipes live.

Hélio Loureiro, Chakall, Rui Paula, Justa Nobre and Cris Mota and foodies Filipa Gomes e Hélio Imaginário will be present accompanied by several special guests: Luís Trigacheiro, Irma, PZ, Hugo Sousa, Paulo Vintém, tik tokers Miguel Magalhães, Mariana Guerra and Lucas with Strangers and youtuber João Sousa, who will entertain the sessions and help choose dishes and ingredients.

The space is moderated by presenter Beatriz Gosta and will have simultaneous translation into Portuguese sign language (PSL), one of the great news of the event which, for the first time, ensures the translation of the sessions for the deaf community.

In the “Praça dos Vinhos” there is a selection of over 30 national wine producers, where it is possible to taste in harmony with cheeses and Portuguese traditional sausages. Academia Continente will offer, with on-site registration, workshops, and wine tastings with well-known personalities such as presenter Filipa Gomes or chef João Rodrigues.
