Farfetch opens offices in Boavista with a team of around 500 people

Farfetch has just opened offices in the renovated Boavista Office Centre, in the Foco area. The online luxury fashion retail platform sells products from over 700 boutiques and brands from around the world.

Most of the company's operations are based in Porto, with a team of around 500 people.

The first Portuguese "Unicorn" founded by the Portuguese José Neves, in 2007, was the first Portuguese company to be listed on the New York Stock.

The Invicta is the base for Farfetch's financial, tax, and legal area, as well as customer support and operations.

The official opening of offices took place on 4 July and the ceremony was led by Luís Teixeira, General Manager and by Cipriano Sousa, chief technology officer (CTO) of Farfetch Portugal.

Other guests to the ceremony were the Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, the President of the Municipal Assembly, Miguel Pereira Leite, the Vice-Mayor of Porto City Hall and councillor for Environment and Innovation, Filipe Araújo, the councillor for Economy, Tourism and Trade, Ricardo Valente, Roberto Centeno, founding partner of Atitlan, Nuno Barroca, entrepreneur and Vice President of the Board of Administration of Corticeira Amorim.

The guided tour allowed to see the choice for Portuguese artwork to decorate the environment, such as Vhils.

During the opening ceremony, the Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira highlighted that the city of Porto is a "competitive business and skills centre" and "the main engine of the economy in the Northern Region".

"Porto is an example of innovation, investment and entrepreneurship. In short, this city is a Porto of talent", the Mayor concluded.
