Eight new projects are allocated grants under the Shuttle programme

Porto City Hall approved, on 26 July, during the Executive Meeting, the allocation of another eight grants, in the scope of the 2021 Shuttle municipal programme. The outline goal is to promote Porto’s artistic scene at international level, namely projects by artists and cultural agents based in the city of Porto, who are granted stipends between 1500 and 7500 euros.

The jury of this edition, namely Luís Albuquerque Pinho, Mara Andrade and Marta Ângela, selected the following four projects within the four covered areas: Visual Arts and Curatorship, Beograd Concrete de Inês d'Orey, Het is al nacht / geen licht boven de horizon (Agora é noite / nenhuma luz acima do horizonte) by Orlando Vieira Francisco and Los Angeles – Parque adolescente by Mauro Cerqueira; in Perfoorming Arts, Metamorfoses by mala voadora; in Performance and Musical Composition, ALBA RUMOR by Sonoscopia, Rádio Afónica by Nuno Pinto and Realidades e Ficção Sonora, by Pedro Augusto and Mark van den Heuvel by Pedro Augusto; and Tradução e Criação Literária e Ensaística, Efeito Orla – Publication by Mariana Caló & Francisco Queimadela.

This 2021 Shuttle second phase had a total of 20 submitted applications. These projects join the eight other projects already selected by the jury, during the first phase of the programme, with a total budget of 75 thousand euros.

The call for proposals is ongoing until October 2021. Shuttle was established in 2018 and has already supported 57 projects, available for consultation at the Pláka platform.
