The map of SBM Offshore, a Dutch multinational that designs, builds, installs and operates floating facilities that produce a large part of the world's oil, now relies on Porto. The company inaugurated its presence in Portugal with the opening, on Tuesday morning, of the offices located at Avenida da Boavista.

“We just arrived in Portugal and chose Porto for our location. Here, we want to consolidate and grow our team, thus actively and responsibly contributing to the development of the business activity of the city and the region", read a statement from SBM Offshore.

This morning's ceremony was attended by Ricardo Valente, City Councillor for Economy, Employment and Entrepreneurship and City Councilor for Finance, Economic Activities and Monitoring, who unveiled the inauguration plaque and got to know the SBM Offshore project and the team of professionals.

SBM Offshore “is a company focused on the energy transition, with more than 6,000 employees worldwide”, added the Dutch multinational. “We do it in the safest, most accessible and sustainable way, continually striving to reduce emissions”, the same statement noted.

"We invested in products and services that allow the transition to renewable energy, focusing on offshore floating wind, wave energy and carbon capture and storage, currently having 15 active platforms leased to customers, in full operation", he concluded.
