The Professor of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP), the designer Eduardo Aires, was awarded two silver Pentawards in 2018.

Aires was recognised by his work on male care packaging for the brand Musgo Real. Last year, this work by the designer from Porto had already been awarded a silver medal in the European Design Awards and a Graphis Gold award.

Eduardo Aires was also awarded a silver Pentaward in the "Luxury - Fine Wines and Champagne" for the work developed on Port Wine packaging celebrating Taylor's Fladgate Partnership 325th anniversary.

The Pentawards are renowned as the most prestigious worldwide competition exclusively devoted to packaging design, namely the creation or marketing of packaging from all sides of the world.

Its fundamental goal is to heighten packaging design and those who create it.

Each year, an international jury of 12 highly regarded designers and packaging design Directors from major companies chooses the winners.

The key aspects to rely on are creative quality and marketing relevance of the works presented. Winners are awarded bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond Pentawards.

The Pentawards 2018 prize giving ceremony was held on 6 September, at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, in New York.
