Concerts and fireworks mark the celebration of Freedom Day in Porto

Concerts, displays of fireworks and revolution-décor at Avenida dos Aliados in the city of Porto to celebrate Freedom day, on April 25. Celebrating the 25th April marks an event of massive historical significance for Portugal.
The musician from Porto, Bezegol kicks-off the 44th Anniversary Programme of the Carnation Revolution in Porto, scheduled to start at 10 pm.
Also, the Choir of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto will mark the occasion by singing "Grândola, Vila Morena", which is a Portuguese song by Zeca Afonso, that tells of fraternity. This song came to be considered the anthem of Freedom Day.
The fireworks will be set alight at midnight.
As has been the case since 2016, Porto City Hall jointly organizes the celebration of the 25th April by presenting a festivities programme in the city that includes music, fireworks, traditional games, workshops and a Freedom Parade.
