Campo Alegre Theatre/Medeia Filmes opened doors on 11th June, as all sessions had been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Cinema screenings are taking up again with a special programming to celebrate the occasion; the filmography by Spanish/Mexican director Luis Buñuel, which is on show at Campo Alegre from 11th June, under the "25x Buñuel" cinema cycle, features its last Buñuel screening on 26th July, with "That Obscure Object of Desire".

Also on screen, this month, is a cycle devoted to the Japanese erotic film, which "has not always been known to the west". The cycle "O Roman Porno da Nikkatsu" features 10 unreleased films, with restored copies.

This week's film is "Night of the Felines" (1972), which portrays the lives of apparently different escort girls who are sex workers at a Tokyo bathhouse; the film is presented almost as a documentary, where emotions as hate and intrigue unfold. This is also a satire to the poverty and social conditions of women in Japan.

Access to the Theatre Campo Alegre follows the guidelines by the DGS, namely mandatory use of face masks inside the theatre and hand sanitation before entering the space.

Tickets cost 5.50 euros, whereas Tripass card holders pay 4 euros.
