Bolhão Temporary Market is open and provides essential products from Monday to Saturday

As of yesterday, 15th January, the State of Emergency in national territory includes a mandatory lockdown with many business and trades forced to close doors, for the coming weeks, owing to growing concerns on the risk of Covid-19 contagion increasing.

There are exceptions to this forced confinement and Bolhão Temporary Market is one of such establishments considered to provide vitally essential goods; as such Bolhão remains operating; from Monday to Friday, between 8 am to 8 pm, and on Saturdays, between 8 am and 6 pm.

Customers have a varied offer of fresh vegetables and fruits, butcher's shop and dairies products, canned food and dried fruits, as well as fresh fish, frozen seafood, all with the Bolhão top quality.

All rules and guidelines by the Heath authorities and the government are scrupulous followed. Entry is limited and supervised and sanitation measures are in line with the preventive measures in place.

Mercado da Foz is also open

Good news also is the fact that the Mercado da Foz, which has recently celebrated its 77th anniversary, is open, in the western part of the city. This Municipal Market is managed by the Union of Parishes of Aldoar, Foz do Douro and Nevogilde.

The Mercado da Foz was inaugurated on 15th January 1944. The premises have undergone rehabilitation works last year.

It is open from Monday to Saturday, between 7 am and 6 pm, and it follows the guidelines issued by the DGS.
