Bolhão Market new vendor space applications conclude tomorrow

Tomorrow, 20th November, is the deadline of the "Abanca-te no Bolhão" campaign, [“Trading at Bolhão” (free translation)] as regards the application period to hold a vendor place at the restored and renovated Bolhão Market. There are 42 new stalls, 6 restaurants and 12 stores. The application is available at the digital platform for public tenders (concursos/compras públicos(as)) AcinGov (www.acingov.pt), which provides all the necessary information. Applications must be submitted until 11.59pm.

Those interested in applying and with any doubts regarding the utilization of this digital tool, which is the exclusive means to apply to the "Abanca-te no Bolhão" tender can contact the support line by AcinGov, via the phone number 707 451 451, with the option “Tender at Bolhão (concursos do Bolhão).

These tenders are targeted at providing available space to new traders, other than the traders and sellers that have been trading at Bolhão for decades, thus guaranteeing the market’s full occupation, with the trade food products.

The 42 stalls under these tenders and the other 60 stalls will be granted a 20 year valid license, renewable for the same time period, in line with the defined regulation of the Market of Bolhão. Furthermore, 12 new stores will be available to applications. These stores face the street (all of the food sector) and will embrace all four streets that surround the market building, namely Rua de Sá da Bandeira, Rua de Fernandes Tomás, Rua de Alexandre Braga and Rua Formosa.

There will also be space for six new restaurants, located in the upper gallery, whose contracts will prevail for 12 years’ time, and renewable for periods of eight years from then on. Adding to these sic restaurants, four existing restaurants will go back to the renewed Bolhão, adding to a total of 10 restaurant spaces in the renovated space.
