Between September 5 and 16, performers and people working in the field of dance or with a particular interest in the body and their actions can enrol in the course The Climate, The Worry, The Dance, which will take place in the Galeria Municipal do Porto in two moments: from September 28 to October 1 and from October 12 to 15.

Organized by choreographer and writer Mårten Spångberg and with the participation of choreographers and dancers Anne Juren and Hana Lee Erdman, the course will take place in eight sessions. Aiming at the joint practice of possibilities of alternative ecologies, The Climate, The Worry, The Dance will take the form of a guided research process, underlining relationships and actions in which spirit, body and mind are understood as fundamental in the fight against the worrying climate crisis.

With a fee of 50 euros per person, participation is limited to 20 participants. Entries must be made by sending an email to plaka@agoraporto.pt with the following information: name, age, profession or occupation, telephone number, motivation letter and abbreviated CV (up to three thousand characters, with spaces, in English or Portuguese). The selection of participants will be made by the course organizer.

Organized by the Galeria Municipal do Porto under the municipal platform to support the contemporary art Pláka, the Pláka Collectives are thought, discussion and action groups on society, culture and contemporary art structured in the form of courses and workshops. In 2022, in addition to this course, in May, the first course of the year was held, Compulsive desires: the lithium extraction, unlimited growth and self-optimization, organized by architect Marina Otero Verzier. The complete program, which includes two public sessions and a final presentation, free of charge, can be consulted on the website of the Pláka platform.
