Daniela Braga, founder and CEO of DefinedCrowd, startup incubated at UPTEC - Science and Technology Park in Porto, won the João Vasconcelos Award - Entrepreneur of the year 2019.

The former student of the Faculty of Engineering and Arts of the University of Porto, Daniela Braga, stood out in the leadership of DefinedCrowd, was awarded the first edition of the João Vasconcelos Prize - Entrepreneur of the year, granted by Startup Lisboa.

According to the jury, "Daniela stood out for the leadership capacity at DefinedCrowd, and the startup has proven its growth capacity at various levels, namely invoicing, which was led to a 10 fold increase and the team, which included 30 collaborators and is now 140, distributed in 4 offices across three continents".

The alumna of the UP highlighted that "DefinedCrowd is made in Portugal (...). I have half of my leadership team in Portugal, and that means something. And the technology team produces artificial intelligence data from Portugal to the world".

DefinedCrowd was founded in 2015 and collects and "trains" data in order to create artificial intelligence, combining machine learning and human-in-the-loop techniques that help enable the linguistic development of robots. Currently, the company's portfolio includes clients such as BMW and Mastercard, and has received 13 million euros of investment.
