Airliners cut back international flights amid travel restrictions

Three airliners reduced or supressed flights to Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, in the context of the current situation of public health emergency due to the spread of the new coronavirus.

TAAG - Angola Airlines suspends all operations in Porto airport, starting Monday, 16th March and informs that passengers that have acquired tickets should contact its ground services, the call centre or travel agencies.

In addition, the Brazilian airline Azul, facing full-scale losses, will reduce the frequency of flights operated in the Campinas-Porto route, in the scope of the airliner's 20 to 30% activity reduction at international level.

Also, the North American United Airlines announced the reduction of flights operated to several European cities, including Porto and Lisbon, from Newark and Washington. In the case of Porto, this means that the daily route Newark-Porto will be cancelled between 28th March and 30th April.
