Porto hosts for the first time, "Africa Mostra-se", an initiative that intends to promote African cinema and art through screenings, photography exhibitions, painting and sculpture, interventional art, performances, dance, music and debates.

The opening took place on November 11 and 12 in the auditorium of the Municipal Library and the program is extended until January 7.

This is the sixth edition of this film and culture festival whose theme is "The Influence of African Culture in Art - Dialogues and Inspiration" and has the joint organization of QuadraSoltas Cultural Association, the Cafuka Platform and Cultural Cooperative Zebra.

"Africa Shows itself" was launched in 2010 as a result of a collective will to provide an insight into artistic creations from Africa or in some way related to African culture.

This event promotes art as a communication platform, trying to contribute to building a society that is ever more tolerant, just and discrimination-free.
