24 hours a day 25 Municipal Police teams are on Porto streets to raise awareness on the importance of staying at home.

All over Porto, there are 25 Municipal Police teams that raise awareness on the importance of staying at home. This is a 24 hour non-stop action.

The main purpose of such actions is to make the community aware of how crucial i tis to prevent contagion by reducing social interaction and adopting social distancing procedures.

This operation started last week with the Municipal Police urging everyone to #StayHome #FiqueEmCasa, through electronic message panels.

In the meantime, with the declaration of the National Emergency State, teams have been strengthened, as well as the dissemination of messages to the population: "Portect yourself of the pandemic and go home"; "Do not remain in public places, unless it is absolutely necessary"; Do not take unnecessary risks"; "Wash your hands often"; Prevent contagion", with the use of a loudspeaker for the transmission of voice enabling voice communication.

People have been adhering to the police guidelines.

Nevertheless, in the past 24 hours, the Municipal Police received the complaint of an establishment operating outside the Emergency Stated rules and another complaint regarding public gatherings.

As of yesterday, 23rd March, the Municipality of Porto activated the Emergency Municipal Plano of Civil Protection, which features, among other measures, logistic support to the population and to task forces.
