Tribute exhibition to Cruzeiro Seixas

DR

Um Passo à Frente (One Step Forward), the exhibition of the Cycle of Celebration of the Centenary of Cruzeiro Seixas arrives in Porto to celebrate the life and work of Artur do Cruzeiro Seixas, one of the greatest Portuguese painters and poets of the 20th century.

This is an exhibition in homage to the member and founder of the anti-group Os Surrealistas, which seeks to emphasize Cruzeiro Seixas' unparalleled plastic capacity and encounter with writing and poetry, presenting to the public a significant set of works, letters, projects of sculpture, poems, insults and unpublished drawings that provide a portrait of what the country and the world used to be under the lucid gaze, but simultaneously poetic and magical by Cruzeiro Seixas.

The exhibition, which runs from September 17 to October 22, also features the installation "100 Perfect Nothings", carried out in tribute to the Portuguese surrealist master, by the Borderlover collective, several tribute works, some lesser known, made by various artists, such as Alfredo Luz, Eurico Gonçalves, Javier Félix and the screening of two documentary films entitled "Cruzeiro Seixas: O Vício da Liberdade" (2010), by Alberto Serra and Ricardo Espírito Santo and "NOMA – Cruzeiro Seixas" (2006), by Carlos Cabral Nunes.
