Porto Municipal Gallery reopens on 6th April and resumes its programming for the remaining of 2021. The calendar of exhibitions was balanced by the Porto Municipal Gallery’s artistic team, and all the artists, curators and partners to ensure that the previously announced exhibitions take place.

The Municipality of Porto launches the Porto. card that is worth discounts in the city activities and facilities

Starting on 5th April, the Municipality of Porto launches the Porto. card, directed to all tax residents in the city and also students that rent a home or bedroom in Porto. This card provides free access to all the facilities within the Museu da Cidade, a 50% discount in performances by Porto Municipal Theatre, access to municipal pools and other benefits, such as free of charge travel in the Funicular railway of Guindais.

Spring is here and what better time of year to enter the initiative “If you have a garden, we have a tree for you" programme, sponsored by Porto City Hall? Applications open on 26th March and run till 30th April. Prepare your spades!

BUS (STCP) adjusts service offer starting 22nd March

STCP bus fleet in Porto will adjust its service offer as of this Monday, 22nd March, to accommodate the increase in demand, as pre-school, kindergarten and elementary schools are open, as are some commercial activities, following the government’s phased easing of restrictions. Weekend Bus services run under the “Contingency Timetable” and Historic tram service will remain suspended until 5th April.

Valuing Water: World Water Day is celebrated in Porto

Sailors from Porto make the 470 an Olympic Sailing and were welcomed by Mayor Rui Moreira

Portuguese sailors from Porto, the brothers Diogo and Pedro Costa will represent Portugal in the Tokyo Olympic Games. The sailors are brothers and both graduated in Civil Engineering. They were welcomed at Porto City Hall by Mayor Rui Moreira, who was also a professional sailor.

Formosa and Alexandre Braga streets are open to public transport circulation

The streets of Formosa and Alexandre Braga, which were closed to traffic since 25th January, owing to the works at the Bolhão Market ancient building, are now open. Also, this was the day that a gigantic canvas was placed all around the working site of Bolhão, depicting all the familiar faces of Bolhão traders.

Book loans and take away service as people return to Public Municipal Libraries

Porto Municipal Libraries are now open, as of 15th March, owing to the easing of restrictions. The novelty is that Municipal Libraries card holders have access to bookshelves for book loans.
