Municipal Assembly approves vote of condolences for the victims of Covid-19 in videoconference session

The Municipal Assembly unanimously approved, this afternoon, a vote of condolences for the victims of Covid-19. The same session, a vote of honour was given to those facing the pandemic and the National Health Service (SNS), both presented by the president of the Municipal Assembly, Miguel Pereira Leite.

Digital services record high by the Townsman Office

Online customer service by the townsman office increases, as the Balcão Virtual keeps running in the normal working hours. The last week in March registered a 56% increase in the number of received emails. In addition, online application forms have showed a 10% increase, between 23rd and 27th March.

URGENT COMMUNICATION: False requests for help on the Internet

False requests for help on behalf of Porto City Hall. The Municipality is developing several actions to support hospitals, nursery homes, and homelessness situations, together with other institutions in town, to fight the outbreak of Covid-19. However, no public appeal was made so that help would be sent to any email or apparent municipal workers' email.

Porto City Hall strengthens support to Bolhão traders

The Municipal Executive has approved to budget the amounts destined to support traders of the Bolhão Market to address the extended deadline of the rehabilitation works of the ancient market of Bolhão, due to the new coronavirus pandemic.

Did you know that Porto has a Municipal Ombudsman as of June 2018?

Porto has a Municipal Ombudsman as of 26 June 2018. This is the first time that the city of Porto has a Public Official to deal with matters of fairness and transparency in the city. Ombudsmen are independent, impartial and provide a free service. Their job is to investigate complaints that haven't been solved by the organisation complained against, making someone suffer as a result. The office is neutral and looks at the complaint from all sides.

The President of Angola visits Porto on 23 November

The President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço, will be in Porto on 23 November, to attend a meeting of government officials at Palácio da Bolsa and also a business seminar between members of government and entrepreneurs both from Angola and from Portugal at the Customs Building.

Porto welcomes The Kings of The Belgians on 24 October

The Kings of The Belgians, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde will visit Porto, in the context of the State Visit of the monarchs to Portugal. Their Majesties will be welcomed by the Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, at 10.35 am, in the Town Hall.
